— House Drennick, on Pattern SevenThrown and poor up close, or a fighting knife that throws badly — the hand decides which kind of trouble you're prepared for.
Weapon is a question of range against the hand. Fennrow Pattern Twelve is sold in threes, balanced for the throw first, and clean at range. Halvard Pattern Four is twice the weight, better in the hand by a wide margin, and tumbles badly past twenty feet.
Off-hand asks what you want them to be afterward. Halvard Pattern Eight, a sap, leaves them breathing. Fennrow Pattern Thirty-One, a wrist blade, means they never saw a weapon at all.
Weapon
Balanced for the throw first, the hand second. Drawing and throwing cost nothing extra.
The better weapon in the hand by a wide margin — and it tumbles badly past twenty feet.
Off-Hand Weapon
Reduce a creature to 0 with this and it's unconscious and stable, not dying. No roll required.
Spring-loaded, sleeve-housed, and doesn't read as a weapon until it's already out.
