Peoples

Five peoples shaped by what happened here — the ones who adapted, the ones who stayed, and the ones the Wastes changed outright. Every one of them carries it visibly, in Marks written on the skin by exposure, work, or birth.

None of it is cosmetic. Read what each one costs before you pick.

The Unmarked Human
Human
Scars

The most widespread people in Calythera, and the only one with no ceiling built in. Nothing is closed to them.

The Forge Keeper Dwarf
Dwarf
Forge Lines

Built Duskcrag's vaults. Four hundred years of family trade taught their hands what their eyes haven't caught up to yet.

The System Reader Gnome
Gnome
Circuit Trace

Built the Prismatic. Reads a system at a glance because five hundred years leaves a race no other way to be.

Human Variant Reclaimer
Reclaimer
Ash Marks

The ones who stayed when the walls sealed. Not corrupted by the Wastes — adapted to them, generation over generation.

The Resonance-Touched Aetherborn
Aetherborn
Fractal Veins

Born from the Wastes themselves. Translucent skin, visible aether veins, and no way to hide what they are.

Before You Choose

Two Things Worth Knowing

Marks are not cosmetic. Every people carries visible evidence of what shaped them — worked into the skin by trade, by birth, or by the Wastes themselves. They deepen with exposure, and almost nobody comes back from the Wastes to compare notes.

Reclaimer is a Human variant. Same root stock, generations of divergence — the ones who stayed outside the walls when the coalitions sealed them. A fully separate set of traits, not a reskin.
