Pulsant

"Everyone else in the room ran when it went wrong. I have never once seen a Pulsant run the same direction as everyone else."

— Maren Doss, Practical Chemistry Under Fire

A Pulsant keeps a body running past its limits — and the body pays it back later.

Every dose is given by hand, which means you have to reach the person who needs it — often across open ground, often while the fight is still going. Their doses don't mend a wound; they stop the bleeding, kill the pain, and kick the heart, and they draw on the patient's own reserves to do it.

You can't treat yourself, you only work at arm's reach, and your best movement only works around allies. Alone, a Pulsant is a d8 in light armor with a surgical knife. With a party that holds the line for you, you're the reason that party is still standing.

The medic cannot treat the medic. Every Pulsant learns that the hard way, exactly once.

Restorationist

Verdis Covenant

The finest field medic outside a full enclave laboratory, credentialed by the Covenant. Barely deals damage — the whole job is measured in who's still standing, not what's been dropped.

Venom Specialist

Starwrought Enclave

The same medical knowledge pointed the other way, without apology. Gives up healing completely — the toxins tick down over time, and they only pay off once someone else pins the target still.
